About

HashHack.com was created by myself, as a sideline project and potential way to fund my Computer Security Degree, the project has rapidly snowballed from a concept I was running on an old IBM X-Series E-Server to something I realised people would be interested in on the internet.

My ultimate goal in building the site was to instead of taking large dictionary to create hash databases like every other site, i wanted to create a database that worked more like a brute force attack, using every combination of letters, numbers and symbols to create hashes. This in theory would give me a much higher success rate, and ultimately be a useful tool to the online community.

My main limitation at the moment is the storage space allowed by my hosting plan but in the future im hoping to gain a revenue from this site, large enough that the site can support itself on a dedicated server, allowing me the space to have a full 1-9 character alphanumeric brute force database, capable of cracking MD5 and SHA1 hashes.

Until then I will be using my own mutation algorithm to create MD5 hashes for the site. This site takes a hybrid approach to creating password hashes based around common words and well remembered phrases that have been appended and mixed with numbers and symbols to meet today's every growing need for increased security. This means HashHack.com is more likely to crack your MD5 hash online because it stores passwords people actually use, rather than standard dictionary words that no one uses.

Happy Hacking
